Storytelling performances
Storytelling is a versatile art form. Its warmth and immediacy always captivate the listener: people naturally appreciate a good story well told.
Since 1999, I have been telling stories in a variety of environments. I take pleasure in surprising the audience with modern, colourful tales, most of which are original creations. My stories are aimed mostly -- but not exclusively -- at adults. My style is very casual and straightforward: no need for props, sets or costumes. I work in both English and French (among other English-language performances, I've told my stories at the Ottawa Storytelling Festival and at the Yukon International Storytelling Festival).
I can adapt the length and contents of my performances to a number of occasions:
- festivals
- conventions
- museums
- Halloween celebrations (I love a good scary story)
- corporate events
- shows/workshops for students (for second-language classes, literature classes and so on)
- afterschool activities
- walking tours
- private gatherings
As a sample, you'll find two of my stories ("Stranded on the Twelfth" and "The Double God") on this site. My fees vary depending on the length and context of each show. For certain types of public events, I may also be hired through the "Tournées-rencontres" program offered by UNEQ (see their site for details). For biographical data, career highlights and more, download my brochure (PDF format).
Creative writing
I can write on demand. So far, I've written scripts for short amateur films and a few tales for a multidisciplinary event called "Légende pour la Farine Orpheline". I've also written short capsules for the "Porteurs de tradition" event, two of which you can read here.
I mostly write fiction, for which I've won a few awards (listed on the French side). Still, I would also be interested in doing humour, regular columns, speeches or introductions for public events... anything creative.
